Dr. Comunale has an Educational Doctorate with a concentration in Learning Technologies from Drexel University and a Masters in Biology from East Stroudsburg University. She is a research instructor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Drexel University College of Medicine. Her scientific research interests are in glycoproteomics and biomarker discovery. She has co-authored 27 peer reviewed publications, 2 book chapters, and is an inventor on two patents for diagnosis of liver pathology. Her educational interest is in innovative learning technologies. To this end, she is working to develop games that teach viral replication strategies, conducts research to determine if games can meet intended learning objectives, and participates in youth education camps to engage potential future scientists using game based learning strategies.
